In honor of William Buehler 
I praise God and count it a privilege to have spent almost two full years reading and discussing various books with Bill over coffee once a week. These times re-vitalized me as I studied for my M. Div at Gordon Conwell in preparation for the pastorate. It turns out the Lord used Bill to influence not only me, but my wife Shirley and daughter Emily – both of whom graduated from Gordon College. Though not in agreement with all of his theological convictions, I cherished our discussions (debates) knowing full well that Bill had arrived at them only after a great deal of study, thought and prayer – a great example for us all. My prayers go out to the family, especially Marlyn – who is, as far as I know, the only person in the world who could command Bill’s attention at the drop of a hat. May she find peace in the absence of her beloved husband and be comforted to know that Bill has finally entered into the presence of his Father in heaven.
